The Singleton family in Australia was descended from convict, William Singleton, and his wife, Hannah. William arrived in Australia on the ship, Pitt, in 1792. Hannah and two of their children, Benjamin and Joseph, travelled to Australia as free settlers on the same ship. Another son, James, came out join the family in Australia in 1809, as a free settler on the Aeolus.
